Teresa Carreño String Quartet

The Teresa Carreño String quartet (TCSQ) consists of four talented members of the Teresa Carreño Youth Orchestra of Venezuela (Lila Vivas, site first violin; Gustavo Briceño, drugs second violin; Ramon Carrero, viola; and Isaac Loreto, violoncello) who decided to develop their skills as chamber musicians.

The TCSQ have participated in master classes with Donald Weilerstein, Luis Miguel Gonzalez, Jesus Alfonzo, Ulyses Ascanio, David Ascanio, Simón Goyo, Carlos Izcaray, Santiago Garmendia, Horacio Contreras, the Latin American Quartet, the Borromeo Quartet, the Chilingiran Quartet and the Cruz Diez Trio.

They are members of the Latin American Academy of Quartets and have performed in many cities around Venezuela.  In 2010, the TCSQ was featured during the Teresa Carreño Youth Orchestra of Venezuela’s European Tour and, three years later, in May, it won first place at the First International Chamber Music Competition held at the Second Music Chamber Festival.
